Manufacturing has changed dramatically in recent years. Labor intensive practices have been replaced with innovative technological processes and a highly skilled workforce. Major manufacturers are bringing their offshore jobs back to the United States. As the fourth largest manufacturing state in the country, North Carolina is uniquely positioned to capitalize on these opportunities, but we need the support networks, infrastructure and a skilled workforce to realize the sector’s full potential.
